The Discord is primarily for facilitating and coordinating in-person gatherings, company projects, or following up with links to things. It isn’t a very chatty place, but it is a very helpful place, and is open to members and non-members alike.

To reduce distractions, most notifications on channels are turned off by default, with the exception of @mentions (like @everyone). If you’d like to keep up with things more incessantly, we recommend manually enabling all notifications for:

Adjusting notification settings


To adjust notifications on desktop, click on the notification bell icon within a channel:
